Volsdalen Church is situated to the east of Ålesund city centre. The modern church was consecrated in 1974. It serves a congregation of the state Evangelical Lutheran Church. It is worth visiting since it contains some fine stained glass windows designed by Franz Widerberg. The altarpiece is a highly innovative tryptich. The font was desined by the church’s architect, Leif Olav Moen. It is made of shale. The church seats five hundred.
