The Vollen Coastal Culture Centre is located in Vollen, Asker, by the banks of the Oslofjord. The centre was opened in 1994. It is designed to inform visitors about the history of shipbuilding in the area. Among the many famous vessels built in here was Roald Amundsen’s Polar Explorer "Maud". The exhibitions also deal with the other local coastal industries such as hunting, trade, fishing and ice cutting. The museum has a cafeteria.
