Vålerenga Church lies in the eastern districts of Oslo, to the south of Tøyen Park. It is set in a pretty little green area. The church was originally consecrated in 1902. Its architect was Holger Sinding Larsen. Unfortunately it was badly damaged by a fire in the nineteen seventies and was reconstructed and reopened in 1984, with the exterior designed to appear just as before. The church is particularly noted for its fine acoustics and excellent organ, and often acts as a venue for concerts. Guided tours of the church are available by arrangement.
