The Vilvite Science Centre is located within walking distance of Bergen city centre. The modern science museum was opened in 2007. It covers more than 1700 square metres of floor space. There are more than seventy interactive installations which allow adults and children to learn more about the world in entertaining and engaging ways. The exhibitions on the wind, ocean and weather are particularly impressive. The museum has a cafeteria and a shop selling a variety of educational materials and souvenirs.
