Vikøyri is the administrative centre and main settlement of the rural municipality of Vik. The idyllic village, which grew in significance during the nineteenth century, is made up of charming little houses and boatsheds. At Borgstova, you can see an eighteenth century house, all that remains of the Sjøtun Estate, which once covered most of the present village. There is a display here of artefacts retrieved from archaeological digs in the area. Refreshments are served here during the summer months.
