The Viking Farm is located on a small tree covered island called Bukkøy that is a short walk from the ancient royal estate of Avaldsnes. The farm is a recreated settlement that allows the visitor to see how people lived a millenium ago. During the high season it is populated by actors wearing historically accurate dress who play out the everyday lives of early medieval Norwegians. There is a traditional longhouse here and a Viking boat. A wide variety of plants and animals are found here.
