The Vestfold County Museum has its main site near the Castle Rock. A copy of the Viking Oseberg ship is found in the courtyard. The main exhibitions deal with the history of the town of Tønsberg from its foundation in the Middle Ages up to the present day. You will also find information about the noble family of Jarlsberg, whose landed estate lies just outside the town. Guided tours are available in English, Norwegian and German.
