Trollstigen is one of the most popular attractions in Norway. The road was opened in 1936 and took eight years to build. It winds its way through some of the most dramatic scenery in the kingdom, including mountains with such majestic names as the King, the Queen and the Bishop. It features steep inclines and at times is cut into the mountainside. The road is closed during the winter. Walkers may enjoy excellent views from the Kløvstien path, the track that was used before Trollstigen was constructed.
