Tønsberg Quayside has been extensively restored and regenerated and now provides a popular recreational area. In the late nineteen seventies the warehouses associated with the merchant shipping fleet were renovated and redeveloped. The area is a popular place to meet or take a walk in the summer. There are benches, restaurants and cafes and pleasure boats to watch at the marina.
