Tønsberg and Notterøy Library lies in the centre of Tønsberg. It is on the site of the former Monastery of St. Olav. The library, which was opened in 1992, holds archaeological finds related to the medieval monastery and two Viking ship graves on permanent exhibition. The library has a reading room and a pleasant cafeteria which is a popular meeting place. It lends books, CDs, DVDs and videos. A number of events for adults and children are hosted here.
