The valley known as Tisleidalen lies to the south and west of Fagernes and may be reached by the main Rv51 highway. There is an alpine centre here which is very popular with cross country skiers and snowboarders. There are miles of snow covered mountains here which invite you to mark out your own cross country skiing trail or use one of the many prepared tracks, many of which are suitable for families. The two highest peaks in the area are both more than 1000 metres above sea level.
