The Rose Maiden lies in the heart of Molde, in the Town Hall Square right outside the municipal headquarters. It was created by the sculptor Ragnhild Butenschøn and was unveiled at this site in 1971. It is cast in bronze and depicts a young girl with arms full of roses. Molde is known as the "city of roses" owing to its fine rose gardens. The sculpture was a gift to the town from industrialist Gotlib Moe.
