The Sunnfjørd Museum lies about nine kilometres to the east of Førde. It is an open air museum made up of a collection of more than two dozen traditional farm buildings from across the region. The museum gives an insight into the realities of rural life during the mid nineteenth century. Guided tours of the buildings are offered during the summer months. The administration building hosts several exhibitions and displays and a souvenir shop. The beautiful grounds are ideal for a picnic.
