Stårheim Church lies in Eid municipality, in an attractive fjordside location about ten miles to the west of Nordfjordeid, the main town of the district. It was built in 1864 and serves a congregation of the state Lutheran church. Outside the church lies a rough stone monument to the memory of Bishop Nikolaus Arneson. Another monument here commemorates the blind hymn writer Mathias Orheim, who was from the village.
