The Stenersen Museum is located in the centre of Oslo. It is houses part of the art collection of the city. The bequest of the private collection of Rolf E. Stenersen, after whom the gallery is named, forms the heart of the permanent collection. In addition the collections of Amaldus Nilesen and Ludvig O. Ravensberg are housed here. The exhibits are a representative selection of Norwegian art from around 1850 to 1970. The museum also hosts temporary special exhibitions. There is a popular cafe here.
