This church lies in the centre of Steinkjer, and has an innovative modern design that makes it a key local landmark. It was consecrated in 1965, 25 years after the town was bombed. It is the third church to stand here. the church is built of concrete wood and glass. Of particular interest to visitors are the fine works in stained glass, designed by Annar Millidahl and based on the original work of Jakob Weidemann.
