St. Jorgen’s Church lies in the centre of Bergen. It is within a short distance of the main square, which hosts the famous fish market, and of many other key Bergen attractions. The church is a charming little structure with a ridge turret tower. The foundation dates back to the Middle Ages. The church originally formed part of a hospital for lepers. After a fire, it was rebuilt in its current early eighteenth century style. It occasionally hosts services in the English language.
