St. Eystein’s Roman Catholic Church lies in the south of the city, not far from the airport. It was completed and consecrated in 1983. It seats 150 people and serves a Catholic population in the city of around 250 people. The church has a beautiful altar made of marble from the local quarry at Fauske. It has lovely stained glass windows, carved wooden fittings, and an excellent modern organ.
