Spiralen means "the spiral" and it is an extraordinary tunnel which leads from the bottom of Bragernes Hill to the top, climbing more than one hundred and fifty metres in the process. The tunnel is 1650 metres long and requires and requires motor traffic to hard left all the way up to the top. The tunnel has been a popular attraction since it was opened in 1961, on the one hundred and fiftieth anniversary of the city charter. At the top is a restaurant and cafe, from where you can enjoy magnificent views.
