The Solifjellet Alpine Centre lies about eight kilometres west of Harstad. It is a popular attraction for both viitors and local people throughout the winter season. It is one of the best family skiing centres in the country. There are two downhill ski slopes with ski lifts. There are also trails suitable for cross country skiing and facilities for snowboarders. Equipment is available for hire or to buy.
