Sofienberg Church lies in the heart of the popular recreational area of Sofienberg Park, in a pleasant suburb north of Oslo city centre. The church was built in the late nineteenth century and was originally named Petrus Church. The interior is tasteful and highly attractive, leading the eye to the oil painting above the altar. Owing to its excellent acoustics, the church is frequently used as a venue for concerts of classical and sacred music.
