Slagen Church stands on the site of a medieval church just outside Tønsberg. It was built in 1901 and replaced the earlier building, which was destroyed by fire. The medieval altapiece from the old church was saved. It depicts St. Ursula on her journey to Rome and dates from 1480. It is now in the Museum of Antiquities in Oslo. The church has one of the finest organs in the region. The artist Sven Jørgensen is buried in the churchyard.
