Skårungen is a statue that lies in Apotekertorget (The Pharmacy Square) in the centre of Ålesund. The statue is also known as "The Fisher Boy" in English. It is a realistic figure, cast in bronze that stands on a plinth. It was unveiled here in 1967 and was the work of Knut Skinnarland. The work is said to symbolise the optimism of youth in the future. A copy of the sculpture is found in Ålesund’s twin town of Akureyri, Iceland.
