Skien Church lies in the heart of the Telemark town and dominates the skyline. The church was constructed in 1894, following a major fire which devastated the town centre. It is in neo Gothic style and has distinctive twin towers that rise to high pointed spires. The church seats a congregation of about one thousand five hundred. It has one of the finest organs in the country. Guided tours are available during the summer tourist season.
