The Skaaluren Collection lies on the quay at Rosendal. It is a shipbuilding museum that contains a fine selction of traditional tools and models used as part of the boat building that the little town is famous for. Skaaluren Shipbuilders in Rosendal is the longest established shipbuilder in Norway. It was established in 1855. Among the ships built here was the Gjøa, manufactured to order for the polar explorer Roald Amundsen. This is the place to discover more about this fascinating industry.
