Silda is an island that forms part of Vågsøy municipality. It lies a short boat trip away from the port of Maløy, and is served by regular ferries during the summer tourist season. The unspoilt island contains many good walking tracks and supports much interesting plant and animal life. It has a popular guest marina and many holiday homes used during the summer. The island has a native population of only thirty and apart from a few tractors, is motor vehicle free.
