Åsgardstrand is the seaside resort town that nowadays forms something like a western suburb of Horten. The area is a long established seaside resort town, with a lovely beach. It is the former home of world famous artist Edvard Munch. It is still characterised by traditional white clapboard houses. There are several galleries and craft outlets here and plenty of accommodation during the high season.
