The Setesdal Mineral Park lies about fifty kilometres to the north of Kristiansand, and is near the junction of the Kristiansand and Arendal to Stavanger roads. Founded in the late 1990s the mineral park contains more than one thousand different naturally occuring geological specemins housed in special underground tunnels carved into the mountain side. This is the largest attraction of its type in Europe. Among the exhibits are colourful crystals and precious and semiprecious gemstones.
