Salen is the large hill that overlooks Hammerfest from to the south. The top of the mountain is a reached by the a zigzag path. At its peak you can enjoy excellent views, especially from the lookout tower. The walk from the town centre to the summit takes around ten minutes in fine weather. The view of the nearby islands is particularly fine from here. At the top of the hill you will find a restaurant.
