Rygge Church lies a few kilometres to the south of Moss, in a rural area. It is one of the oldest and most visited churches in Norway. The church is built of stone in Romanesque style and dates from the medieval period. It is more than eight hundred and fifty years old. The altarpiece is from the first half of the 18th century, and is thought to have been made by Thomas Blix. Guided tours may be booked by groups in advance.
