Rugsund trading post was established in the seventeenth century. It lies in the municipality of Bremanger. There are many interesting preserved and restored buildings here that give the visitor a feel of its importance in the past as a commercial centre. An old seafarers house is being converted into a coastal culture centre. Accommodation is available here. Rugsund is a fine starting point for various excursions in the locality.
