Ørland Church is the oldest church in Fosen still in use. The stone church dates back to at least the fourteenth century, and contains some medieval wall paintings, but much of the interior is more recent owing to a fire in the mid nineteenth century. The glass painting of the risen Christ was made by Gabriel Kielland in 1921. The same artist made the altarpiece. The font is late nineteenth century. The church is open to visitors during the summer months and by special arrangement at other times.
