The River Glomma is the longest river in Norway and cuts the town of Elverum in two. It is quite wide at this point. The river forms several natural bathing spots near the centre of town that can become popular during the long, bright days of summer. It also provides excellent opportunities for anglers. Perch, pike, carp and trout are among the species found in some abundance. Many people take part in a variety of different boating sports here.
