The Ringve National Museum is located in the countryside to the north east of Trondheim. The museum lies on the Ringve estate and is housed in a building constructed in characteristic eighteenth century style. The museum is the only institution in Norway dedicated exclusively to the history of musical instruments. It is surrounded by attractive botanical gardens, which are a lovely place to take a walk. It has a souvenir shop. There is a charming cafe in the grounds.
