Rein Church lies just across the road from Reins Kloster, the oldest building in Rissa district. The church was completed in 1932. Before the Reformation, this place was a centre of great religious devotion, and the writer Johan Bojer took the initiative in reestablishing a church here. That is why the church is also known as "Boyer’s Church" to the local people.
