Preus museum is Norway’s National Museum of Photography. It was established in 1995 and is housed in a former naval storehouse built in the nineteenth century. The museum has an outstanding collection of photographs and albums from the nineteenth century up to the present day. It also has a large number of cameras and other items of technical equipment. It maintains a specialist library. It mounts temporary exhibitions of photography. It has a cafe and shop.
