The Polar Museum is located near the centre of Tromsø, by the waterfront. It is housed in a converted wharfside warehouse dating from the nineteenth century. The museum’s exhibitions cover many different aspects of Norway’s polar history. Polar expeditions are documented. Many photographs and artefacts related to polar exploration are on display. There is also a great deal of information about hunting and trapping in the polar regions. Special exhibitions are mounted here.
