The Peer Gynt Suite Sculpture Park lies a couple of miles to the north east of the city centre. The sculpture park is being created in the area of a new housing development. In all there will be thirty sculptures celebrating the monumental epic verse play Peer Gynt, by Henrik Ibsen. So far contributions, depicting various characters from the play have come from several different countries. They continue to be selected as part of an international competition which will ensure the park has a full complement in 2012.
