The Olsen Nauen Bell Foundry and Museum lies a few kilometres to the north west of Tønder. It is the only surviving bell foundry in Norway and was established in 1844. The four thousand kilo bell for Oslo Town Hall was cast here in 1948. In 1944, the largest church bell in Norway, which is in Nidaros Cathedral, Trondheim was made here. Guided tours of the foundry are possible for groups, and include a commentary and slide show.
