The Olavshallen Theatre and Concert Hall is a relatively modern addition to the cultural life of the city. It was officially opened in 1989. The cornerstone was laid by the Norwegian King a year earlier. Its name refers to the traditional annual festival of local saint Olav. The concert hall hosts a wide range of high quality classical concerts and a wide range of exhibitions, cultural events and stage plays.
