The Olav Tryggvasson Statue stands in the main town square of Trondheim. The figure of Viking king Olav Tryggvasson, who founded the city in the year 997, is mounted on an eighteen metre column. The statue is a key local landmark and a great photo opportunity. the sculpture was created by Wilhelm Rasmussen. Around the statue a mosaic made of cobblestones forms the image of a giant sundial.
