The coastal fortress of Ny Hellesund lies to the south of Søgne, which is to the west of Kristiansand, in southern Norway. The fortress was built during the Second World War by the occupying fortress. It is sited on a small island. The fortress has been partially renovated and restored. There were more than 150 soldiers stationed here during the war. There are information boards at the site. Guided tours are run by the local tourist information office. The island can be reached by private boat or on the tourist boat MF Høllen.
