Nøtterøy Church lies a few kilometres to the south of Tønder, across the canal. The cruciform church is constructed of stone. The earliest parts of the church date from the twelfth century. The church was originally dedicated to Our Lady. It is set in a very attractive churchyard. The church has an altarpiece from the eighteenth century, created by Jacob Lindegård. It acts as a venue for concerts.
