The Norwegian Wild Salmon Centre is located in Lærdal, in some of the best salmon fishing country in Norway. It was opened in 1996 by King Harald. The centre informs the visitor about all aspects of the life cycle of the Atlantic salmon. It also has exhibitions on the protection, management and exploitation of wild salmon stocks. There is an observatory where you can watch fish in their natural environment. An award winning film is shown in the cinema here. You will also find a fishing simulator, fly fishing workshop, cafe and restaurant.
