The Norwegian Sawmill Museum lies in Spillum, just across the water from Namsos. It is a living museum, where the a steam powered sawmill is maintained in working order, and you can see the traditions and skills associated with the industry developed. The sawmill opened here in the mid nineteenth century, and was the first of its kind in Norway. Original equipment and artefacts are on display. Guided tours are possible by arrangement. Special events are held here.
