The Norwegian Museum of Vetinary History lies a little to the north of city centre. It is accessible by public transport. Professor Carl Schwensen Aaser donated his collection to the Norwegian School of Vetinary Science in 1969, and this forms the basis of the collection. There are a large number of instruments from different periods. The main attraction is a recreated vetinary surgery from the 1900s which is complete with original furniture, instruments, books and journals.
