The National Museum of Decorative Arts lies in the heart of the historic city of Trondheim. the permanent collections contain examples of the finest furniture, silver, glassware and works in textiles from Norway and all over Europe. These were manufactured between the sixteenth century and the present day. The second floor is devoted to exhibitions of three leading female designers who worked in glass design and tapestry. The museum runs an extensive programme of temporary exhibitions. It has a souvenir and gift shop. Guided tours are conducted.
