The Norwegian National Gallery contains Norway’s largest collection of painting and sculpture. The gallery covers works from the nineteenth and twentieth centuries. The permanent exhibitions are strong in works from the Nordic countries, although there are also representative exhibits from further afield. The gallery contains many of Edvard Munch’s major pieces, including one version of the iconic "Scream". It mounts temporary exhibitions on various themes. You will find a cafeteria and a shop here.
