Winter visitors to Oslo will delight in the sight of the open air ice rink right in the centre of the city. The Narvisen ice skating rink is open during the winter months, and is located within a short distance of the royal palace. The rink is a free facility for locals and visitors. It is a relatively easy and safe winter sport to master if you do not have the time, ability or nerve to try skiing! Skates are available to hire at the rink. There is a kiosk here selling drinks, snacks and gifts.
