The Museum of Decorative Arts and Design in Oslo was founded in 1876. Its collection shows the development of applied arts from the seventh century to the present day. Among the treasures of the museum is the twelfth century Baldishol Tapestry. There are excellent collections of glass, silver, porcelain and furniture. There is a collection of clothing worn by Norwegian Royalty. You will also find a substantial East Asian collection here. The museum hosts various temporary and special exhibitions. It has a shop.
